5x Pumpkin Spice Latte

Fall is here. And with it comes the beloved Pumpkin Spice Latte, a seasonal favourite of coffee lovers everywhere. In Penticton, I've made it my mission to try every pumpkin spice latte in town. I've stuck to the locally-owned coffee shops though.

Caffē Al Socialē

A PSL that comes with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle? Sign me up! I got a table next to the window in this coffee shop, providing me with a view of the boulevard at Okanagan Lake. On a windy day, there's nothing better than watching people while warming yourself with a perfectly crafted drink.

  • Made with Torani Pumpkin Pie Sauce

  • Standard with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle on top

  • 16 oz: $5.62

Stillfood Bistro & Cappuccino Bar

In this all-vegan cappuccino bar your PSL is made with your choice of oat-, almond-, soy- or coconut milk. Although I usually go for the standard cow milk, I was pleasantly surprised with the creaminess and subtle taste of the oat milk, which turns out to be a perfect combination with the pumpkin spice.

  • Made with Monin Pumpkin Spice Syrup

  • Standard with oat milk

  • 16 oz: $5,-

The Bench Market

Head barista Eric is not a fan of the 'ready-to-use' Monin syrups, so he came up with his own recipe. He uses a combination of spices that dissolve in the latte. The result? A delicious latte with a beautiful spiced, less sweeter, taste.

  • Made with a blend of spices

  • 16 oz: $ 7.30

Wayne & Freda

I visited this popular coffee shop on a Saturday, meaning I had to wait for my order a bit longer, but it was definitely worth it. Instead of the syrup, they use the Monin Pumpkin Spice Puree. This purée contains real pumpkin combined with a blend of organic spices and has a thicker texture that is similar to that of a pumpkin pie filling.

  • Made with Monin Pumpkin Spice Puree

  • Standard with latte art

  • 16 oz: $6.45

Blenz Coffee

The Blenz Coffee location I went to was the one on Main Street. Just like at Wayne & Freda, they use the Monin Pumpkin Spice Puree. This coffee shop has some other pumpkin-flavoured beverages as well, like a Pumpkin Spiced Chai and Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew.

  • Made with Monin Pumpkin Spice Puree

  • Standard with cinnamon on top

  • 16 oz: $7.45

There you have it, all Pumpkin Spice Lattes in a row. Seriously all of them were delicious and definitely worth trying yourself.

I am aware that Penticton has a few other great coffee shops as well, but at time I wrote this blog, they weren't serving a PSL (yet). As soon as they do, I'll post it on my Instagram and Facebook Stories.
